All around us is the evidence of our decline
The shattered remains of our once mighty empire
We stand among the ruins and ponder what went wrong
And wonder if we shall ever rise again
What is it that you find so appealing?
In the shards of glass that lay strewn on the ground
Is it the way they shine so in the light?
Or the way they’re so sharply defined?
The broken pieces lay in peace
No more swords to rearrange
We wonder if we should build again
Or simply keep on walking
